Everyone interested in participating in band or orchestra at Willamette this year must take an audition at the beginning of the term. View the audition schedule here.

For the bands, everyone who auditions will have a spot in an ensemble. The audition is meant to give the directors a sense of what music will best suit the ensembles and what part you should play in any given piece.

If you are interested in playing in an orchestra, want to be a section leader or soloist in the bands, or aspire to play the most difficult small wind ensemble literature, you should prepare all the excerpts posted for your instrument.

If you only want to participate in the bands as a section player, you only need to prepare the first excerpt posted for your instrument.
